After helping restaurateur Chris Lucas launch an outpost of his fan-favourite restaurant Chin Chin in Geelong earlier this year, KDPO was all-in when he opened Tombo Den in September.
Located at the bohemian Windsor end of Chapel Street, Tombo Den is a moody homage to late-night Tokyo dining. Blending Japanese street food and an incredible list of imported sakes, it’s spread across two levels rocking a bold and arty Melbourne aesthetic.
Celebrated chef Dan Chan captures the spirit of Tokyo’s bustling food culture with street food-inspired dishes like Sapporo flatbread with wasabi cream and karaage chicken with chilli crisp dip, while sushi masters Toaki Kyo and Carlos Lopez present an ever-evolving selection of sashimi and nigiri from a central counter.
KDPO co-ordinated two soft launch events for key media, influencers, industry leaders and VIPs, and we were thrilled by the calibre and extent of the coverage achieved. We see a southside classic in the making.
